Remember Me feature added to tournaments!

We have added a "Remember Me!" feature to the registration page for tournaments. The new feature will allow members to save their login information so they can quickly register for tournaments.
A couple of tips on using the Remember Me feature:
1. Cookies must be enabled in order for the feature to save your login information. For Internet Explorer users, you may need to include igl.net and myleague.com as allowed sites within your cookie settings. You can add the sites by following these steps from within your browser: Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy tab -> Sites. From there, simply type in each web address individually (http://www.igl.net and http://www.myleague.com). Be sure to choose "Allow" after you enter each one.
2. If at anytime you uncheck the Remember Me box, the dots in the password field will not be your actual password, so you will need to delete them and re-enter your password.

Risk Tips

Know what rules you’re using. There are various editions and versions of Risk, so be sure that you’re not playing one game while everyone else is playing another.
Australia is a good continent to control at the beginning of the game, since it’s easy to hold (it only has one point of attack from outside the continent) and get the continent bonus. South America, with only two points of attack, is almost as good.
When you control a continent, position your armies to protect the points of attack much more so than the less vulnerable interior countries.
Don’t bother conquering an entire continent unless you think you can hold it for at least a full turn, because controlling a continent makes you an attractive target for other players to attack.
Try not to let other players control continents, but don’t weaken yourself too much in the process.
Whenever possible, attack with a large group or armies rather than a medium-sized one.
If you’re playing with mission cards, it’s generally better to start by going after a full continent. Once you have armies to work with, go after your mission.
When trying to complete a mission, take steps to make sure that you don’t make it obvious what your goal is. If you don’t mask your intentions, your opponents will catch on.
If you’re playing with increasing card redemption values (the standard rule in most versions), hold on to your cards as long as possible. This is particularly true near the beginning of the game.
Hold on to wild cards as long as possible at any point in the game.
If you’re defending a country, and you have an option of how many dice to roll, always roll as many as possible. This increases your chances of a successful defense.

Tips:

Risk is not a team game. Alliances, if they exist at all, are always temporary.
Don’t spread yourself too thin. Other players could sweep through and capture all of your one-army countries quite easily.

The Teams Toc event is a non-standings tour as any other TOC so it will not affect your place on the ladder but it will be fun and the winning team will share a 5,000 ladderbux prize. Plus the winners will be included on the Hall of Fame. The Toc medal will be awarded to all premium members who win this tour. The fee will be 50 ladderbux.

This tournament will be held on Thursday, March 18th, 2010. If you participated in the March INTER, we invite you to play.

Things to do:

Pick a Partner. This will be a DOUBLES tournament and you will need to find a partner to play with. If you can not find a partner, please let me know and I will try to help you find one. Below is a list of players.
Pick a team name. This team name can be anything that you and your partner chooses PLUS the prefix “G4F”. Example. if you choose the team name “Hoststhemost” your team name would be “G4FHoststhemost”. This name may not be offensive in any way.
Register for tourney. Registration for Doubles is different than in Games4Fun because we use Random Partners. Heres how to register…

1st team member:

Go to tourney main page located at http://cgi6.igl.net/tourney/4inter/7377154/ and click on REGISTER.
Click on START NEW TEAM and enter the Team Name that you choose as described above.
Enter a TEAM PASSWORD. this can be anything and give it to your partner.
Enter YOUR Username
Enter YOUR user password
Check that you have read the rules of the tournament (please make sure you do).
Click Register

2nd team member:

Go to tourney main page located at http://cgi6.igl.net/tourney/4inter/7377154/ and click on REGISTER.
Click on JOIN TEAM and find the team in the drop down menu where it says SELECT TEAM
Enter the TEAM PASSWORD that your teammate gave to you
Enter YOUR Username
Enter YOUR user password
Check that you have read the rules of the tournament (please make sure you do).
Click Register
